LEN BREWER: GRAPHIC DESIGNER
My name is Len Brewer. I am a professional photographer and graphic designer. I'll take your vague ideas and transform them into promotional pieces that will get people in your door and get your phone to ring. Think of me as not only your designer - but your marketing partner. I'm not going to just throw your text and graphics all over the page and call it good enough. I will strive to truly understand your customers and their unique purchasing habits - I want to know your business, almost as good as you do - and work with you to create the best possible marketing campaign possible. If you are looking for a designer to slap together some quick graphics and rush it off to the printer - keep looking - I'm not your guy. I have definite opinions on what I think will work and I'll be happy to share them with you. If I have a problem with the direction your project is going I'm going to let you know about it. And I'll expect you to do the same. We're in this together - we both have a stake in this thing. I want your promotion to succeed just as much as you do - because successful promotions create happy clients - and happy clients become lifelong customers.
GRAPHIC DESIGN COSTS
Graphic designers typically charge $75 - $90 per hour. I only charge $50 per hour. I do this because it brings in way more business in the long run. Like all successful businesses, a pick up a lot of new clients from word of mouth. If I do a great job and charge you a fair price, you'll likely tell your business associates about my company. I can give you a more accurate price quote after our initial conversation and I review any graphics and text that you may be able to provide.
EFFECTIVE MARKETING
I believe that effective marketing doesn't cost you money - it makes you money. If you have invested in marketing strategies that didn't work well in the past - it's because they were flawed - plain and simple. It might have been a lack of commitment - the mailing list - the design - but obviously something went horribly wrong and you cannot afford to keep repeating that mistake. Don't waste your money by sending out inferior marketing pieces. You'll pay the same price for printing and postage and receive unsatisfactory results.
BULK MAILING
I'll work with you and help you locate the right mailing lists, suggest ways to improve your database, explain bulk mailing practices, review your planned promotions and suggest alternate printed materials or procedures that may work even better. Designing effective marketing pieces is a collaborative effort between the designer and business owner. You have a great business - we just need to let more people know about it.
WHERE IN THE HECK IS EVERGREEN?
I am located in Evergreen, Colorado but I create graphics, websites and printed products for businesses all across the country. I do a lot of design work for hunting & fishing lodges and outfitters whom I've never even met. It works out just fine and you'll have just as much input as if you lived next door. I will email you copies of your designs or post them on my website for you to review. (See a pdf example of an online review)
HOW MUCH DOES FULL COLOR PRINTING COST?
A better headline for this paragraph might be, "How much does 2 color printing cost?" The obvious answer to that question is: Sales. Two color printing costs you money in lost sales because it does not get noticed or looked at in todays marketplace. You'll impress nobody with that 2 color postcard. ("Wow! They used black and blue!")
To really showcase your business you need full color. That's an absolute fact. Full color sells. Full color gets noticed and, the words you've been waiting to hear, full color is affordable. Very affordable. Take a look at the price charts above and then call your local neighborhood printer and compare. Advancements in printing technology have made 2 color printing obsolete. Most of the time full color will be cheaper - yes, I said cheaper - than the price your local printer will quote you for a 2 color print job. Full color will do wonders for your image and place you a step above the competition.
HOW TO GET STARTED
I have created great looking brochures for clients who have given me two or three photographs and told me to, "Get the rest off my website". Others have been short on graphics but long on great ideas. That description probably fits most business owners I work with actually. That's why we're in business for ourselves right? We had a dream that we could do things better - be our own boss - and we do a great job running our businesses. But where most business owners fall short is in marketing. They are so busy running their business, that they don't have the time to create the marketing campaigns that will propel their business to the next level. Those that do, will often let those campaigns fall by the wayside when they start to get busy. Too bad, because the most important word in marketing is consistency. People are so inundated with information that they will not remember you or act upon your promotions unless you continually keep your name in front of them. Regardless of what promotional strategies you implement, if you commit to being consistent, you’ll see a significant increase in your marketing success. That's where I come in.
I can help you with your "consistent, effective marketing campaign". Give me a call or send me an email. That's all you really need to do to get started. Lets talk about what you have, what you need and the best way to proceed. I'll create designs for you to review and email or post them on my website. You take a quick look and tell me what you like and what you'd like to change - I'll make the changes and send you the revisions. You get the idea. It's pretty simple really and a real time saver for you, which lets you get back to what you do best. Running your business.
PHOTOGRAPHY
Since I am also a professional photographer, I may be able to photograph images that we need to compliment your project. We can also utilize stock photo resources if we are able to locate images that are appropriate. Stock photography has really taken a price plunge lately and great images can be obtained for as little as $3. (Not great for photographers like me, but really nice for you) I don't want you to think that we must embark upon an all out search for better graphics. What you already have will more than likely work just fine. Let's take a look at what you have and go from there.
